Marketing Director

Our client is a fast-growing legal technology company that enables legal professionals to capture and preserve online content, including websites, social media, and video, as defensible, court-ready evidence. For more than a decade, the company has served leading law firms, small and mid-sized practices, corporate legal teams, investigators, and litigation support providers, and it has been recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies for three consecutive years. Its fully remote team operates with a strong, close-knit culture and embraces AI as a core driver of innovation and efficiency across every function. With a goal of approximately 40% growth again next year, the company is seeking its first Director of Marketing to build a scalable demand generation engine that accelerates its proven sales-led growth.

Position Overview

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth legal technology company as its first dedicated marketing leader and shape the function from the ground up. First, the role offers direct visibility and impact, reporting to the Co-CEO and serving as a key member of the go-to-market leadership team alongside Sales, Account Management, and New Market Development. Second, the Director will own both strategy and execution across demand generation, market education, the website, and events, with the support of an Events Manager as a direct report, along with agencies, freelancers, and AI tools to extend the team’s reach. Third, the position carries a clear path to grow a team, as the company plans to add marketing headcount as successful programs prove out. This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates based in the Eastern or Central time zones.

Position Responsibilities

· Develop and lead the marketing strategy for the company’s core client segments, aligning plans, budgets, and performance goals with overall growth objectives.

· Build demand generation programs that create warm buying signals and qualified pipeline, making the sales development, account executive, and conference motions more effective.

· Design account-based programs that expand adoption across practice groups within existing clients, and develop go-to-market programs that reach mid-market and smaller law firms for the first time.

· Educate the market on the value of professional online evidence capture, developing tailored messaging for audiences such as litigation support, IT, trademark and intellectual property attorneys, and defense case teams.

· Evaluate, test, and prioritize channels including content, SEO, AI search visibility, paid media, webinars, and events, shifting investment toward the programs that deliver measurable results.

· Lead the redesign of the company website as an early priority, partnering with designers and outside resources to launch the refreshed brand and strengthen conversion through case studies, testimonials, and video.

· Define the events strategy, including which conferences to attend, success measures, and structured pre- and post-event campaigns in partnership with Sales, while managing the Events Manager on planning and execution.

· Partner with sales development and outsourced BDR resources on messaging, targeting, and lead generation goals, and grow the volume and quality of inbound demand.

· Collaborate with company AI leadership to automate and scale marketing workflows, and build the marketing team strategically as programs demonstrate results.

Position Qualifications

Required:

· A track record of success building B2B demand generation programs that deliver measurable pipeline and revenue impact in a growing organization.

· 8 to 12 years of B2B marketing experience, including at least 3 years leading demand generation.

· Experience at an organization as it scaled, with a clear understanding of what high-performing marketing looks like and the drive to build toward it with limited resources.

· Demonstrated success generating demand for innovative solutions through market education, audience segmentation, and tailored messaging.

· Experience partnering closely with sales organizations, including sales development teams, in a sales-driven environment.

· Hands-on expertise across digital marketing, SEO, webinars, and events, along with experience leading a website redesign or brand launch with outside partners.

Preferred:

· Experience in legal technology, eDiscovery, or vertical B2B software, and familiarity with marketing to law firms and legal professionals.

· Fluency in applying AI to marketing strategy and operations, with real examples of automating marketing work.
