Global Head of Sales

Global Head of Sales Development

(Remote, US)

Company Overview

Finance leaders face growing pressure to close faster, reduce manual work, and gain real-time visibility into cash, and our client has spent more than a decade building the AI-driven platform that helps them do it. Its SaaS solutions automate source-to-pay and order-to-cash workflows for upper mid-market and enterprise organizations around the world, spanning accounts payable, procurement, order management, accounts receivable, and customer service. The company is known for a culture where employees enjoy working together and care deeply about the business, creating a strong foundation for leaders who want to build something lasting. Now backed by leading private equity investors and guided by a newly assembled executive team, the company is pursuing more than 20% annual growth, and a unified global sales development function is central to reaching that goal.

Position Overview

This is a rare opportunity to create and own an entire global function during a defining chapter of a company’s growth. First, the Global Head of Sales Development will serve as the executive owner of sales development, reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, sitting on a small leadership team shaping the company’s value creation plan, and periodically presenting the function’s performance to the board. Second, this leader will build the function largely from the ground up, uniting regional SDR teams across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific under a common methodology, shared metrics, and an outbound engine designed to open thousands of untapped strategic accounts. Third, the role carries real people impact, with the chance to develop a group of frontline managers, create a clear path from SDR to account executive, and shape a culture the team is proud of, supported by a dedicated sales enablement team and participation in a management equity program tied to company growth. This is a remote U.S. position, ideally based in the Central or Eastern time zone given daily collaboration with European colleagues, with travel of roughly once per quarter.

Position Responsibilities

• Establish a unified vision, operating model, and performance framework that brings regional SDR teams together as one global function, with a shared cadence and the flexibility for each market to tailor its approach to local buyers.

• Diagnose the root causes of inbound conversion gaps, determining whether the issue lies in how leads are defined, how SDRs execute, or both, and rebuild the MQL-to-SQL motion accordingly in partnership with marketing.

• Build an outbound engine from the ground up, including methodology, multi-touch cadences, messaging, and campaigns designed to resonate with senior finance buyers.

• Partner with the Chief Sales Officer to redefine the ideal customer profile and account coverage model, expanding outbound efforts from a limited named-account list into a much larger universe of strategic accounts.

• Define global KPIs, SQL criteria, and pipeline contribution metrics that create clear, consistent accountability across every region, supported by a performance management rhythm built on effective one-on-ones and a fair, timely approach to underperformance.

• Recalibrate qualification standards so SDRs advance interested buyers quickly while account executives own deeper discovery, and equip SDRs to engage executive buyers and build multi-threaded relationships within large and enterprise accounts.

• Coach and develop frontline SDR leaders, many of whom are building their broader leadership skills for the first time, and assess talent across regions to decide where to invest, upgrade, or bring in proven leaders.

• Build a structured SDR-to-AE career path, including an enterprise SDR track, that turns sales development into a reliable source of future sellers.

• Shape and own the budget for the sales development technology stack, and partner with the Chief Sales Officer on compensation and incentive programs that reward outbound effort and strategic enterprise opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with regional heads of sales, enablement, and channel leadership to align SDR priorities, handoffs, and training with each market’s goals, while leading the team through meaningful change with transparency and reassurance.

Position Qualifications

Required:

• Proven track record of building a sales development program largely from scratch and moving an organization to a significantly higher level of pipeline performance, with personal ownership of the methodology behind the results.

• 10+ years in sales development, demand generation, sales leadership, or related go-to-market roles within B2B SaaS organizations with long, complex sales cycles, including 5+ years leading teams across multiple regions.

• Leadership of SDR teams across multiple countries, through direct global ownership or meaningful influence over international teams.

• Experience selling to finance buyers and creating messaging that resonates with CFOs, controllers, and finance operations leaders.

• Deep expertise in high-volume inbound qualification and MQL-to-SQL conversion analysis, along with success expanding outbound and account-based programs into large and enterprise accounts.

• A history of developing frontline managers, building SDR career paths that promote reps into closing roles, and directly addressing underperformance, turnover, and backfill onboarding.

Preferred:

• Experience leading teams in continental Europe, a background in financial management or finance automation software, and operational discipline built in a structured, metrics-driven sales environment using sales engagement and conversation intelligence platforms.

• A direct, candid communication style=””>Ready to make an impact?
