Role Overview
Following the departure of a long-serving CEO, this well-established and financially stable nonprofit organization is seeking an innovative, people- first leader to guide it through its next phase of growth and transformation. The organization has no major structural issues to “fix,” but it does require a collaborative, business-minded executive who can scale impact, strengthen culture, and position the organization for long-term success. Backed by a strong board and highly collaborative C-suite, this is an opportunity to lead from a place of stability while shaping the organization’s future.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Culture (30%)
- Serve as a player-coach leader who inspires, develops, and empowers staff.
- Build and nurture a “we” culture based on trust, collaboration, and shared success.
- Model operational excellence and ensure strong performance management practices across the team.
- Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships (30%)
- Cultivate and deepen relationships with corporate partners, institutional funders, and high-net-worth donors.
- Leverageawell-connectedboardtodeveloptransformational, long-term partnerships.
- Serve as a credible and compelling voice for the mission in high- level external settings.
- Strategic Growth & Business Planning (40%)
- Drive the development and execution of a new strategic plan (“4.0”) to position the organization as a high-impact social enterprise.
- Craft a comprehensive business plan with clear milestones, revenue models, partner strategy, market alignment, and defined roles, all aligned to a culture metric that measures human impact at scale
- Balance short-term operational stability with long-term innovation and transformation.
- Ensure alignment between vision, funding strategy, and program delivery.
Key Qualifications and Attributes
- Proven experience as a CEO or senior executive leading organizational growth or transformation, ideally within a nonprofit or mission-driven business.
- Strong track record of developing and executing strategic partnerships, including corporate relationships.
- Demonstrated success as a collaborative, empowering people leader.
- Business savvy with the ability to balance operational oversight and visionary thinking.
- Experience in both nonprofit and private-sector contexts strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
