Account Executive

Founding Account Executive

Our client is an AI-powered consumer health technology company that has done what most startups cannot: convinced the hardest buyers in the world to say yes first. Their smartphone-based foot scanning system generates custom insoles in days and has earned official product partner status with a major professional sports players association, with paying customers spanning teams across the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, MLS, and NCAA Division I. The technology is proven, the market is validated, and the brand carries the credibility of elite athletic partnerships. Now they are ready to build the sales function that will scale it.

Position Overview

This is a founding role, not a conventional sales position. The Founding Account Executive will be the first dedicated seller at a company where the founder has personally run every enterprise deal to date, and will work directly alongside that founder to take over the pipeline before progressively owning it outright. The single KPI is enterprise revenue, earned across three target segments: professional and collegiate sports organizations, sports medicine and orthopedic clinics, and corporate worksites. With a starting base salary of up to $100,000, uncapped commission of 10 to 20%, and performance-based equity of up to 5%, this is a founder’s compensation package built to reward the person who builds the machine. All elements are negotiable.

Position Responsibilities

  • Take over enterprise deal flow from the founder, initially with direct support, and progressively own the full sales cycle independently.
  • Self-source leads and run outbound prospecting across target segments including professional and collegiate sports organizations, clinics, and corporate worksites.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, close enterprise agreements, and manage the transition from prospect to paying customer.
  • Drive post-close onboarding, account growth, and maintain an active feedback loop to the product team.
  • Identify and prioritize which segments and accounts represent the highest near-term revenue opportunity and build pipeline accordingly.
  • Travel heavily across the US to meet prospects, attend events, and build the relationships that convert into long-term enterprise business.

Qualifications Required:

  • A demonstrated track record of closing real enterprise sales, with at least one documented example of a $5,000 or greater sale to an organization run from prospecting through close.
  • A self-starter with high energy and intrinsic motivation, comfortable building structure and pipeline in an environment where the sales playbook is still being written.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information, and being persistently and warmly assertive with prospects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to read a room and build credibility quickly with organizational decision-makers.
  • Willingness to travel heavily across the US as the role requires.

Preferred:

  • Background in or existing relationships within professional sports, collegiate athletics, sports medicine, or corporate wellness.
  • Experience competing at a high level athletically, given that the primary buyer base operates in that world.
  • Prior experience as an early or founding sales hire at a startup or growth-stage company.
